Eatables – Jon Snow Cones

Bring Game of Thrones to life with this perfect treat for Summer! Now that season 6 of Game of Thrones is over what are we supposed to do with our lives? “But I’ve blocked out my Sunday nights to read endless reviews, possible sub plot theories, and fan fiction,” you say.

Preposterous! Go enjoy Summer BBQ’s and days at the beach Game of Thrones style with these tasty and refreshing snow cones. Or should I say… Jon Snow Cones… eh, eh? Pun VERY much intended. Jon Snow cones are a surefire way to beat the heat and always be reminded that winter is coming. Who knew Games of Thrones could taste this good?

1 cup water
1 1/3 cups sugar
1 ½ cups blackberries
3 cups ice
Sweetened condensed milk

In a medium saucepan heat the water and sugar over medium high heat until the sugar has dissolved completely.

Add the blackberries and reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 20 minutes.

Strain the syrup into a Tupperware container and place in the refrigerator to cool. Take the chunkier pieces of blackberry that you strained and place in a separate container in the refrigerator to cool.

Take your ice and place it in a blender and blend until shaved ice forms. Do not over blend or you will not get the right consistency.

Place your shaved ice in a serving dish and drizzle the condensed milk over the top to your desired sweetness level. Then pour the blackberry syrup over the top. Take the chunkier blackberry pieces and place them on top.

Top it all off with a cool crow topper! Download the template for the crow topper HERE.
